About The Event

If you are new to yoga, or you would like to review the basics, this 5 week series is a great way to get started.

You will be learning the fundamentals in a group where everyone is new to yoga, and you will walk away feeling confident, energised and eager to continue your yoga journey. Over the 5 weeks you will continue to build your strength, flexibility, mental focus and general understanding of the foundational yoga poses and at the end you will be ready to join a regular yoga session or to continue in your home practice.

During the five weeks we will focus on the following elements:

Week 1: Sun Salutations and variations

Week 2: Standing poses and balance

Week 3: Hips and Shoulders

Week 4: Backward Bends and Twists

Week 5: Forward Bends and Inversions

Practical Details:

- Date/Time: 9am-10.30am Saturday 25 Aug for 5 consecutive Saturdays (last session 22 Sept)

- Cost: 600 ZAR/person for 5 x 90 minute sessions

- Venue: Emmarentia Botanical Gardens, at the top of the Rose Garden (entrance on Thomas Bowler street opposite Roosevelt High School)

- Participants: maximum 25 per series

- Yoga Mat: bring your own if you have one, if you don't have one yet you can use one of ours for the series

- Weather: as we will be practicing outside, we will extend the series by an extra week in case we have to cancel a session due to rain
