Wild Yoga and Hiking Retreat
Time & Location
About The Event
Yoga Works and Drakensberg Hiker invite you to step into nature and your best self with this wild yoga and hiking retreat. Head into the stunning mountain scenery of the Mnweni Wilderness area and come back with a different perspective.
On the first night we will stay in mountain chalets at the Mnweni Cultural and Hiking Centre with views of the majestic mountains all around us. On Saturday, we will set off on an epic hike, passing mountain streams, indigenous forests and eventually reaching a hidden spot high up in the mountains. Here we will set up camp for the night, far away from any manmade structures, traffic and noise. On the last day we will hike back to the start of the hike and leave with tons of great memories and stories.
Steven Heyman from Yoga Works will teach two yoga sessions daily (a dynamic practice in the mornings and a more relaxing session in the evenings). The yoga sessions are accessible for all levels even if you are new to yoga. Steven's classes are fun and playful and this is really what this weekend is all about - take a well deserved break, spend some time to connect with nature, with others and with ourselves, and keep a bit of that “helicopter view” we have when standing op top of the mountain.
The hiking and camping is done under the expert guidance of Ian from Drakensberg Hiker. a professional mountain guide and nature lover. He will tell us countless facts and stories about the surrounding landscape, animals, plants and legends.
